The Life of WILMA M GRAHAM

Wilma Mae Kaltenheuser Graham was born in Des Moines-Elkhart Township on December 30, 1918, to Harry Dewey and Grace (Longnecker) Kaltenheuser and died on February 16, 2007. Wilma was a longtime resident of the Des Moines and surrounding areas. She graduated from Johnston High School in 1936. In 1939, Wilma married Rolland Lee Graham. They were high school sweethearts and their union produced two sons, LeRoy Rolland and Rollie Jr. Wilma and Rolland had many homes in the Des Moines and Polk City areas. Their latest home was in Waukee where they were able to enjoy "country life". They also enjoyed their nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and many memories were made at their home. Wilma was an avid painter and the family has many of her paintings to enjoy as a wonderful memory of her. Wilma also worked as an office manager for Graham Body Shop which was owned by her son, LeRoy and is now owned by her grandson, Michael Graham. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bob and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Wilma is survived by her beloved husband, Rolland of 68 years; her two sons, LeRoy (Linda) Graham of Waukee and Rollie (Sonya) Graham of Alleman; a sister, Pauline Cox of Ankeny; sister-in-law, Helen Hughs of Des Moines; her grandchldren, Vicky Lee (Kevin) Anderson of Waukee, Rollie (Theresa) Graham of Des Moines, Doug (Deanna) Graham of Des Moines, Michael (Vikki) Graham of Des Moines, Kerry (April) Graham of Des Moines, Steven (Tiffany) Graham of Waukee, Chris (Tanya) Graham of Polk City, Melanie Graham Cawthorn of Ankeny and Ainsley Lamantia of Alleman. Wilma was also extremely proud of her 17 great-grandchildren all of whom are from the Des Moines and surrounding areas. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of Taylor (Hospice) House and Dr. Bradley Archer for their loving care of Wilma. The family also wishes to thank the many friends who have been so supportive. Wilma and Rolland are members of Waukee Christian Church (1 mile west of Waukee on Highland 6-Hickman Road) and Wilma''s service will be held there on Tuesday, Februry 20, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be Monday, Febaruy 19, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service with burial following the luncheon at 2 p.m. at Highland Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Taylor House or Waukee Christian Church. Brooks Funeral Care is caring for arrangments.>>
