The Life of GENE B WESTERGAARD
Gene B Westgaard, 79, of 4118 Aurora Ave died of a heart attack Friday at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Westergaard was born in Adiar and lived most of his life in Des Moines, retiring as a manager for Tension Envelope.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of First Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Elvera; two sons, Mark of Urbandale and Neal of Des Moines and four grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to his church or the American Diabetes Association.
