The Life of MARLAND C PETERSON
Marland C. Peterson, 85, of 708 Grandview Ave. died of a kidney ailment and pneumonia Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Peterson was born in Lead, SD. He moved to Des Moines from Guthrie Center 50 years ago. He was a retired mechanic with Electrical Service and Sales, and a member of International Machinists'''' Union and Grand View Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; two sons, Gene and Clair, both of Des Moines; a daughter, Naomi Gnade of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
