The Life of BLANCHE ERB LONG
Blanche Erb Long, 89, of 3714 Cornell St. died of complications of a stroke Tuesday at Des Moines General Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Long was born in Yale and had lived in Ankeny before moving to Des Moines. She was a homemaker and member of Indianola Heights Evangelical Free Church and Gideon's Women's Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, Leon; a son, Charles of Polk City; a daughter, Elaine Long of Des Moines; four grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Gideon's.
