The Life of SARAH JANE REED

Jane Reed, 85, was born September 18, 1918 in Des Moines, Iowa and died Monday, December 8, 2003 at home.  Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 11 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Jane is survived by her sons, James Reed of Des Moines, Doran (Barbara) Reed of Des Moines and Bill (Roxane) Reed of Urbandale; daughters Barbara (William) Kappelman of CA, Betty (Gary) Hood of Des Moines, Mary Swinehart of Pleasant Hill, Jan (Tom) Hanson of Johnston and Connie Nading of Ankeny; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doran Reed; grandson, Gary Hood, Jr. and brothers Harry and Alf Williams.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
