The Life of FORREST W KOOKER

Forrest W. Kooker, 88, 3508 28th St., died Sunday of cancer at Hospice Kavanagh House on 56th Street. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Basilica of St. John, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Kooker was born in Adelphi and had lived in Des Moines since 1930. He worked for the former Cushman-Wilson Oil Co. until retiring in 1970. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Dorothea; two sisters, Vera Fischer of Manning and Velma Curtis of LaMesa, Calif.; and two brothers, Halford and Bruce, both of Des Moines. Visitation is from noon to 7 p.m. today at Caldwell-Raddatz Urbandale Chapel, where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or his church.
