The Life of GENEVIEVE M GALENBECK
Genevieve M. Gelenbeck, 81, of Norwalk died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Regency Care Center there. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Des Moines, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery here.
Mrs. Galenbeck was born in Carlisle and had lived in Oregon and Missouri before moving to Norwalk in 1996. She was a retired clerical worker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Buffalo, MO.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Ascione and Marcia Northway both of Des Moines; two stepdaughters, Bonnie Jean McCarthy of Cincinnati, OH, and Vivian Stiles of Dexter; a brother, Burton Houseman of Marshalltown; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association or Hospice of Central Iowa.
