The Life of HELENE M SMEDES
Services for Helene M. Smedes, 65, of 4028 Fourth St., who died of a liver ailment Thursday at Northwest Community Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Arnold''s Highland Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Smedes was born in Charcoal, KS, and lived in Council Bluffs before moving to Des Moines 49 years ago. She attended Drake University. A member of the Business and Professional Women''s Association, she was employed by National Handicraft, Inc. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Corsbie of Des Moines; three brothers, LeRoy Exline of Groveland, FL, Robert Nelson of New Jersey, and James Nelson of Council Bluffs; and three granddaughters.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.
