The Life of LAWRENCE EDWARD MARXER

Services for Lawrence E Marxer, 72, of 3848 Beaver Ave., who died Monday at Mercy Hospital of a heart attack, will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens. A rosary will be receited at 8:30 p.m. today at Caldwell-Brien-Robbins Funeral Home. Mr. Marxer, a life-long Des Moines resident, was a retired co-owner of the Chickadee Restaurant and had been a member of the Benson-Marxer Construction Co. He was a graduate of North High School and the Capital City Commercial College and a member of Socio Club, the Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, the Highland Park Businessmen's Club and the Iowa State Restaurant Association. Surviving are five sons, Richard and Thomas of St. Louis, Mo., Michael of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Lawrence Marxer Clark of Ankeny and James T Marxer Clark of Shrevesport, La.; two daughters, Mrs. Carol Nixon of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Mary O'Neil of El Paso, Tex.; three brothers, Dr. John L., Hugo and Edward, all of Portland, Ore.; five sisters, Mrs. Theodora Morrow, Anna Marxer and Mrs. Beatrice McDonnell, all of Des Moines, Mrs. Isabelle Mulroney of Aberdeen, Wash., and Josephine Marxer of Portland, Ore., and 14 grandchildren.
