The Life of JOHN FLOYD SHORT
Services for John Floyd Short, 66, of 720 E. Eighteenth St., who died of cancer Sunday at home after a 15-month illness, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A lifelong Des Moines resident, Mr. Short had been a guard at Iowa Packing Co. He was a member of Calvary Open Bible Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mae; three duaghters, Mrs. Doris Silny, Mrs. Edith Allender and Nancy Ann Short, all of Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. Mennie Erixson of Lake Wood, CA; Mrs. Hazel Lamm of Truro and Mrs. Ethel Flaherty of Des Moines; two brothers, Clyde of Coronato, CA and Lawrence of Des Moines, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
