The Life of GRIFF REESE JR
Services for Giffith Reese, Jr. 46, of 847 Oak Park Ave. will be at 10 am Thursday at Arnold's Highland Park Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Reese was dead on arrival Monday at Iowa Methodist Hospital after suffering a heart attack.
Mr. Reese, a lifelong Des Moines resident, was the operator of Griff's Restaurant & Lounge, 4397 NW Sixth Dr. A World War II veteran, he was a member of Auburn Masonic Lodge, Des Moines Consistory, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, Highland Park Business Men's Club and First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; two sons, Griffith III and David, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Pearl Reese of Des Moines, and two brothers, Rhys of Des Moines and Tom L of Kettering, Ohio.
The family suggests memorials to the Shrine Hospitals for Crippled Children.
