The Life of NORMA JEAN CROSS

Norma Jean Cross, 68, of 4031 Eighth Place died of a brain aneurysm Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Cornerstone Community Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Cross, a lifelong Des Moines resident, was head cashier at Toys R Us. She is survived by five sons, Frankie Cross, Jr., Paul Cross and Dan Robinson, all of Des Moines, and Steven Cross and Bud Denning, both of Ankeny; four daughters, Shelley Robinson and Wilda Wood, both of Des Moines, Cheryl Cowie of Ankeny and Rose Sheeley of Norwalk; a brother, Hughie Pontius of Richmond, CA; two sisters, May Beebe and Nellie Prothero, both of Des Moines; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to her church. Arrangements are being handled by Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
