The Life of CLARA W JONES

Clara W. Jones, 84, of Ottumwa, formerly of Urbandale, died of leukemia Wednesday at Ottumwa Manor.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chapel of the Cross at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.

Mrs. Jones was born in Donnellson and had lived in Urbandale for 35 years before moving to Marion and then Ottumwa.  She had been a bookkeeper for her husband's insurance company and had been a schoolteacher.  She had been a member of Order of Eastern Star, Urbandale United Church of Christ and Urbandale Senior Citizens and was a charter member of Urbandale Lionesses.

Survivors include a son, Robert of Ottumwa; a daughter Donna Courson of Lakewood, CO; a sister, Marie Smith of St. Mary's, Ohio; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service tme Saturday at the funeral home.
