The Life of FRANK MONACO

Frank Monaco, 71, of 2215 Courtland Drive died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Northwest Community Hospital.  He had been ill about a month.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Monaco lived in Des Moines 60 years and was a retired surveyor for the City of Des Moines, a World War I veteran and a minister in the Church of Christ.  He was a member of Pioneer Masonic Lodge, York Rite Bodies and Rising Sun Church of Christ.

Mr. Monaco is survived by his wife Ruby; two daughters, Mrs. Sybil Schwingle of Marion and Mrs. Mary Ellen Brady of Pleasant Hill; three sons, Frank D. of La Puente, CA, Andrea of Las Vegas, Nev. and Lawrence A. of Des Moines; two brothers, Alex and Lester, both of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Mary Migneault of Des Moines; a step-daughter, Mrs. Marilyn DeLay of Waterloo, 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Easter Seal Society for Crippled Children and Adults of Iowa, Inc., or to the American Heart Fund.
