The Life of LAWRENCE MELVIN FISHER

Lawrence M. Fisher, 72, of the 4000 block of Second Avenue died of a heart attack there Friday.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton''''''''s Funeral Home Near Highland Memory Gardens, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Fisher was born in Marshalltown and had lived there before moving to Des Moines 41 years ago.  He was a painter for Wes Janagin Paint Co. before retiring in 1991.  He was an Army veteran, a member of Painters'''''''' Union 246 and enjoyed fishing and bingo.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; three daughters, Elizabeth Stout and Karen Clark, both of Des Moines, and Jean Mulinix of Gladbrook; two sisters, Frances Daniel and Pauline Bane, and a brother, Delbert Fisher, all of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
