The Life of MARVIN C NELSON

Services for Marvin C. Nelson of 750 NE 60th Ave, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the Dahlstrom''s Funeral Home.  Internment Highland Memory Cemetery. 

Mr. Nelson died Sunday of complications following surgery at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

A lifetime Des Moines resident, he was building manager for the General Services Administration before his retirement.  He was a member of Union Park United Methodist Church, the Des Moines Men''s Garden Club, a 50-year member of Home Masonic Lodge, a life member of the Des Moines Consistory and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.  He also was a life member of Power Engineers, a member of the Polk County Farm Bureau, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Scandinavian Fellowship and Secretary of Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Union Park United Methodist Church or Camp Sunnyside.

Surviving are his widow, Mary; a daughter, Mrs. Vivian Larsen of Des Moines; a brother, Laurel Nelson of Gowrie; a step-brother, Roy Nelson of Des Moines, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
