The Life of JAMES ALLEN NELSON

Services for James Allen Nelson, 38, of 750 Hobson Drive, who died of a a kidney ailment Sunday at Veterans Hopsital, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Nelson had worked as an auditor in San Francisco, CA, 10 years before returning to Des Moines 20 months ago because of illness.

Born in Des Moines, he was graduated from the former Woodside High School north of Des Moines and Evanston Junion College at Evanston, IL, and attended Iowa State University three years.  He was recognized as an accomplished pianist.

After graduation from Naval Officers Training School at Plattsburg, NY, he served as a lieutenant, junior-grade, during World War II in the South Pacific.  He was a member of Union Park Methodist Church and Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at Ames.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Marvin C. Nelson of Des Moines with whom he lived, and a sister, Mrs. Vivian Larsen of Des Moines.
