The Life of GARY LYLE WHITEAKER
Gary Lyle Whiteaker, 57, of Van Meter died of a heart attack Sunday while driving in Des Moines. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home in Des Moines, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Whiteaker was born in Des Moines and had lived in Booneville before moving to Van Meter 20 years ago. He was a truck driver with J and O Trucking and enjoyed fishing, bowling and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha; two sons, Paul Neithe of Jacksonville, FL, and David of Des Moines; three daughters, Shelly Madewell and Roxanne Arroyo, both of Van Meter, and Mindy Whiteaker of Des Moines; his mother, Ella Whiteaker of Des Moines; two brothers, David and Arnold, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Sharon Peterson of Remer, MN, and Audrey Meyer of Des Moines; and 15 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
