The Life of ARNOLDENE AMALIA ECKLES

Services for Mrs. Arnoldene Eckles, 43, of 6373 NE Fourteenth St. will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ankeny United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Eckles, born in Des Moines and a lifetime resident here, died Wednesday night at Iowa Lutheran Hospital of a kidney ailment following an illness of two years. She had worked for the Rock Island railroad seven years and had been in charge of the Ankeny office of Scania Savings and Loan Association. She had worked several sessions of the Iowa legislature as a committee clerk in the Iowa senate. Mrs. Eckles was a graduate of Woodside High School and the old Capital City Commercial College. She was a member of the Ankeny United Methodist Chruch. Surviving are her husband, Rober L; two sons, David and Stephen; a daughter, Roberta, all at home; parents, Mrs. & Mrs. Clarence Yarn, Des Moines, former operator of Woodside Golf Course; and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Hall of Des Moines. The family suggests memorials to Ankeny United Methodist Church or to Camp Sunnyside, operated for crippled children and adults. The body is at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home.
