The Life of FRANCES T BJAASTAD

Frances T. Bjaastad, 78, of 214 S Eastlawn Dr., Ankeny, died of a heart ailment Thursday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.  Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.

Mrs. Bjaastad was born in Hutchinson, MN, and lived in Ankeny 33 years.  She retired in 1972 as a teacher for Ankeny Public Schools.  She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, National Education Association and Order of the Eastern Star, and was a past member of the Iowa State Education Association.

Survivors include her husband, Chester; a son, Philip of Seattle, WA; a daughter, Kathryn Anderson of Atherton, CA; three sisters, Helen Osman of Minneapolis, Florence Rykken of Alexandria, MN, and Dorothy Sahr of Hutchinson, MN; and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Ankeny Funeral Home.
