The Life of WESLEY THOMAS LONGDEN
Wesley Thomas Longden, 84, of 3911 Cambridge St. died Thursday of Wegener''s disease, a rare tissue disorder, at Hospice Kavanagh House. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, and burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Longden, a lifelong Des Moines resident, retired after 48 years as a pressman for the Des Moines Register and Tribune Co. and was a member of the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by two daughters, Lois Gray of Des Moines and Wanda Wieland of Ankeny; a son, Thomas, and two sisters, Lenore Longden and Lela Brady, all of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
