The Life of EMMA JANE WICKHAM VRANICH FOWLER

Jane Fowler, 60, of the 1100 block of 44th Street died of cancer Friday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Fowler had lived in Des Moines all her life. She was active in Polk County politics for many years as a precinct committee person and a candidate for the House of Representatives. She was a member of Eastern Star and was active in the women''s political caucus for several years. She enjoyed home remodeling projects. She is survived by her husband, James; three sons, Beau of Montezuma, Cole of Ankeny and Colin of Iowa City; two brothers, James Wickham of Des Moines and John Wickham of Denver, CO; and six grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
