The Life of LUCY T SHACKELFORD
Lucy T. Shackelford, 93, of Calvin Manor, 4210 Hickman Road, died of a heart ailment Thursday at Hospice Kavanagh House, 900 56th St. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Shackelford was born in Bondurant and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Auburn Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and Drake University Alumni Association.
Survivors include five daughters, Peg Courter and Barbara Brooks both of Des Moines, Fran Drake of Lucas, Audrey Wee of Waterloo and Lois Prince of Dunnellon, FL; a son, Ray Thomas of Ankeny; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Kavanagh House.
