The Life of BESSIE IRENE HUNZIKER

Bessie Hunziker, 80, of 3330 E. 25th St. died of a stroke Wednesday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center.  Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Highland Park Funeral Home, and burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Hunziker, a former Sioux City Motel 6 manager, was born in Colfax and lived in Des Moines most of her life.  She was a member of Eastside Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are a son, Ronald Peterson of Minnesota; three stepsons, Duane of Altoona, Daryl of Tacoma, WA, and Donald of Davenport; three stepdaughters, Darlene Haberkorn of Ankeny, Donna Brownlee of Montezuma and Dixie Glanville of Polk City; three daughters, Virginia Goin, Kathleen Kern and Marjorie Vernon, and a sister, Colleen Vogt, all of Des Moines; 28 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
