The Life of ROY C MARQUIS
Roy C. Marquis, born July 27, 1918, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2006 at Kavanagh House on 56th.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Roy graduated from East High School in 1935. He was the owner of Marquis Electrical Contractors, Inc., until his retirement in 1992. He was a Mason and a member of the Home Lodge No. 370 for more than 50 years, a 55 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), a member of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and Isaac Walton League. He loved fishing, reading and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal''''s baseball fan.
Roy is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Marquis; two sons, Harry (Norene) Marquis and David (Carol) Marquis, both of Des Moines; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Roy P. Marquis in 2000.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or the American Cancer Society.
