The Life of THELMA A AMIS

Services for Thelma A. Amis, 88, of Calvin Manor, 4210 Hickman Road, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Mrs. Amis died of a stroke Wednesday at home.

She was born in Clio and lived in Des Moines for 44 years.  She had been a homemaker and was a member of College Avenue Church of Christ and Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are two sons, Max of Peterson and Donald of Jackson, Tenn.; three daughters, Ruth Dawson of Heber Springs, Ark., Margie Danley of Des Moines and Bonna Thompson of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; a brother, Earldene Hutchinson of Des Moines; six sisters, Marie Nelson and Helen Mayer, both of Des Moines, Coral Vermeulen of West Des Moines, Madge Kesterson of Yakima, Wash., Gladys Kirkpatrick of Mexia, Texas, and Kay Zinn of Albuquerque, N.M.; 18 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home, and memorial contributions may be made to her church.
