The Life of KAROLYN KAY HOCHMUTH

Karolyn "Kay" Hochmuth, 40, of 2717 E. Lyon St. died Sunday at University Hospitals in Iowa City of complications of leukemia.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Hochmuth, a lifelong Des Moines resident, worked in the food service area for the Air National Guard for three years.

Her survivors, all of Des Moines, include a daughter, Kristy Lynn Hochmuth; a son, Robert II; her mother, Anna Lyon; her stepfather, Glen Lyon; seven sisters, Florence Ashley, Elaine Beerbower, Rita Barnes, Rose Myer, Ramona Danley, Frances Selby and Dianna VanTassel; two brothers, Robert Rustan and Danny Rustan; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mom I just realized that this site was available - in your day you didn't have internet. I was thinking back when I was young and things about you like how strict you were with me and how bad I was lol You always told me that when I had kid's of my own one day that they would do to me what I did to you but worse, well your wish has came true mom. I think I got tri-fold of what I gave you lol You can stop wishing now lol There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of you. I get told often I look like you and talk like you and act like you. Sure wish you were here to tell me that too. Love you mom
