The Life of GERALD DEAN KEPHART

Gerald Kephart, 44, of Cherokee died of injuries he sustained when he fell from a ladder Thursday in Meriden.  Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Church of Compassion in Des Moines, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery there.

Mr. Kephart was born in Des Moines and lived there several years before moving to Cherokee nearly 10 years ago.  He was employed at Wilson Food Corp., and he was Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; three sons, Christopher and Brian, both of Cherokee, and Aaron of Des Moines; a daughter, Annette Kirkman of Des Moines; his mother, Rhea Kephart of Des Moines; seven brothers, James, Kenneth, Darrell, Keith, Lyle and Roger, all of Des Moines, and Russell of Tennessee; two sisters, Mary Petty of San Antonio, Texas, and Carol Wonderlin of Altoona; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time today at the church.  Arrangements are being handled by Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.
