The Life of LORIS LEE BENNETT

Loris Lee "Gus" Bennett, 68, of Village Manor in Altoona died of a heart ailment Thursday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at noon Monday at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Bennett was born in Leon and had lived in Altoona most of his life. He was a retired security guard with Iowa Lutheran Hospital, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a member of PMECI. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four daughters, Linda Wood of Des Moines, Cindi Gamble of Bondurant, Jeri Nettles of Spokane, Wash, and Patty Lind of Fort Worth, Texas; a son, Thomas Sr. of Las Vegas; three stepdaughters, Debbie Condreay of Altoona and Deanna Summy and Denise Smith, both of Des Moines; a stepson, Dennis Miles of Johnston; nine grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; a great-granchild; and three step-great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 pm today at the funeral home. Memorial contributation may be made to the Iowa Heart Association.
