The Life of RICHARD PATRICK MCGREAN Sr.

Richard Patrick McGrean, 83, died October 18, 2005 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. McGrean lived in Des Moines all his life and started truck driving when he was 16 years old for Pulley Freight, Conard Freight, Towers Transfer and Retired from Blue Line.  He was a member of the Teamsters Local Union #147.  He served in the United States Army in WWII, receiving the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, the Bronze Battle Star, three Overseas Service Bars, one Service Stripe, the Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart.  Richard loved baseball and NASCAR.

He is survived by his children, Timothy McGrean, Charles McGrean, Gary Iseminger, Phyllis Ramirez and Donna Cipale; sisters, Louise Carpenter and Elizabeth McGrean; brother, Raymond McGrean, all of  Des Moines; twelve granchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his companion, Ruth McGrean.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Hamilton''s Funeral Home.
