The Life of ETHELREDA KALWISHKY

Ethelreda "Rita" Kalwishky, 51, of 912 E Madison Ave. died of lung cancer Wednesday at home.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Highland Park Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Kalwishky was born in Lacona and had lived in Des Moines since 1959.  She retired earlier this year after 32 years at US West Communications, for which she was most recently a project manager.  She had been a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and the Chamber Alliance.

Surviving are her husband, Lee; two sons, David of Des Moines and Scott, a student at the University of Iowa in Iowa City; two stepdaughters, Debi Neff of Garner and Linda Wieben of Cedar Rapids; four brothers, James Seuferer of San Antonio, TX, Leo Seuferer of Lacona, Frank Seuferer of Norwalk, and Howard Seuferer of Roca, Neb.; four sisters, Ruth Seuferer of Des Moines, Winifred Nicholson of Indianola and Angela Daugherty and Patricia Miller both of Lacona; and 12 grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
