The Life of WILMA AUDREY COCHRAN EVANS

Wilma Audrey Cochran Evans, 95, was born September 23, 1908 in Hume,MO to Delilah May and Lyman Henry Cochran.  She died on November 3, 2003 at Valley View Village in Des Moines, Iowa.

On April 16, 1926 she married Edward Francis Evans in Adel, Iowa.  She worked as a homemaker and a rate clerk for State Auto Car Insurance.  Her hobbies included playing piano (she could play "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" by ear at age 95), gardening and crafts.  She is most remembered for her humor and her faith.  On September 23, 2003 she celebrated her 95th birthday with friends and family.

Her survivors include sons, Edward H. Evans of Antioch, CA, Robert H. Evans of Leominster, MA, and Richard A. Evans of Minnesote/Arizona; her daughter, Joan A. Johnson of Bellevue, WA; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Evans and brother, Elery Cochran.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
