The Life of KENNETH THOMAS CRONIN

Kenneth Thomas Cronin, 79, of the 4000 block of Northeast 72nd Street, Altoona, died of cancer Wednesday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.  Services will be at noon Saturday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Cronin was born in Des Moines and had lived in Trenton, MO., before returning here.  He moved to Altoona a year ago.  He was a retired mailer with the Des Moines Register and Tribune, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Mark''s Episcopal Church in Des Moines, American Legion in Chillicothe, Mo., St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Trenton and The Des Moines Register and Tribune 20 Year Club.  He enjoyed stained glass.

He is survived by a son, Dennis of Columbia, Mo.; a daughter, Sharon Roske, and a brother, Raymond, both of Altoona; a sister, Betty Olson of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
