The Life of JOHN F CLINE

John F. Cline was born June 5th, 1918 in Boone County Iowa, to John R and Izevene (Condon) Cline. He attended Des Moines East High School. July 14th, 1938 he was united in marriage to Alice M Long in Chillicothe, Missouri. To this union 2 boys were born, J. Russell and Larry. John began his career as an auto mechanic in 1933 and this was his life long vocation. From 1954 to 1982 he owned and operated John Cline’s Auto Service on Hubbell Ave. In 1945 he joined the United States Navy serving during WWII in the Pacific theater. He was honorable discharged in 1946. He was an active member of The Staves Memorial United Methodist Church, The Masonic order, The American Legion. John enjoyed family, friends, and antique automobiles. His parents, and one grandson Bradley preceded him in death. He is survived by is wife Alice, and sons J. Russell and his wife Roberta of Kimberling City, Missouri, Larry and his wife Sandy of Fairfield, Ohio. Four grandchildren: Laura Redddix, Michael, John C. and Matthew and ten great grand children. Services will be at the Staves Memorial United Methodist Church East 28th and Madison Saturday December 30th at 10:00am with Rev. R.D. Streeter and Rev. Rudy Trushiem officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to the Staves Memorial United Methodist Church.
