The Life of LOUIS STINSON

Louis Stinson, 78, of the 3100 block of Fourth Street died of congestive heart failure Sunday at Hospice Kavanagh House.  Services will beat 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Stinson was born in Baxter and had lived in Des Moines all his life.  He was the retired owner of Stinson Excavating Co. and had owned several car lots.  He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 9662.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; two daughters, Mary Ann Bougher of Des Moines and Connie Beise of Colorado; a stepdaughter, Christy Ekman of Swan; two stepsons, Craig Cowden of Swan and Brad Cowden of Pleasant ville; three grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
