The Life of VERNA MAE DANIELS
Verna Mae Daniels, 65, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. After a courageous six-year battle with lung cancer, she was such a fighter right to the end. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Verna ws born in Des Moines, but finished her days in the Carlisle countryside, where she enjoyed the company of family and friends. She had many jobs in her life, which included cook and custodian for the Des Moines School District. She truly enjoyed her restaurant, Family Farms in Hartford, but her favorite jobs were wife, mother, grandmother and companion to all who loved her.
Verna is survived by her son, Larry Daniels and his wife, Wendy of Newton and daughter, Kathy Daniels-Ellis and her husband, Allen of Des Moines; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Carpenter and Dean Barr; two sisters, Deloris Burks and Lois Lingle.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, husband, Larry and brother, Everett.
