The Life of DOROTHY LUCILLE ERSKINE
Dorothy L. Erskine, 86, of Ames died of cancer Tuesday at Northcrest Retirement Community there. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
Mrs. Erskine was born in Rockwell City and moved to Ames in 1949 from Knoxville. She was a former classification officer at Iowa State Univrsity, and was a deacon, elder and trustee at her church. Her memberships included Order of the Eastern Star, Cyclone Club and 25-Year Club, both of Iowa State University.
She is survived by two sons, Gary of West Lafayette, IN., and Thomas of Ventura, CA.; two brothers, Ralph Acklin of Lancaster, PA., and John Acklin of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Northcrest Retirement Community. Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames is handling arrangements.
