The Life of CHARLES MARTIN DAWSON

July 28, 1912 - July 17, 2006

Marty spent a few months at the rest area due to a fall, but he''s on the road again.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Hamilton''''s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Born in Adel, IA he was an over the road driver retiring from Caldwell-Hartung.  He was a member of the Teamsters, 50 year member of Auburn Lodge, Consistory and Za-Ga-Zig.  Marty saw the South Pacific in WWII.  He was a Past Commander of American Legion Post #374 and Chef-de-Gare Passe of Voiture 71-40/8.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth; sister, Virginia Thompson; brothers, Edison (Mary Ann) and Neil (Helen) Dawson, sister-in-law, Marie Dawson and his second family, Patty Nearmyer, Linda Arnburg and their families.  He wsa preceded in death by his parents, Newton E and Eva (Rhodes) Dawson; sister, Imogene Sterling; brothers, Lawrence and Virval (Ruth).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Auburn Lodge or American Legion Post #374.

The family offers a grateful thank you to all who helped Marty along the road these past few months.
