The Life of EVELYN ESTELINE NEWELL
Esteline "Dean" Newell, 84, of the 4600 block of Southwest Sixth Street died of a heart attack Thursday at Fleur Heights Care Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Southtown Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Newell was born in Lorimor and had lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Order of the Eastern Star and New Horizon Church. She enjoyed the color purple, butterflies and babies.
She is survived by three daughters, Bonita Crase of Dallas, TX, Yvonne Lloyd of Colona, IL, and Nancy Sly of Runnells; a sister, Vivial Shaw of Perkinston, Miss.; a brother Buck Hulbert of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bidwell Riverside Center.
