The Life of EUGENE F MONTGOMERY
Eugene F. Montgomery, 89, of the 2900 block of East 41st Street died of a heart ailment Monday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Montgomery was born in Murray and had lived there as a youth before moving to Des Moines 53 years ago. He ws a retired tire builder with Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co., an army veteran of World war II and a member of Berean Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by a stepson, Virgil W. Hillman of Des Moines; three sisters, Betty Hill and Doris Landreth, both of Afton, and Rita Spegenga of Grand Rapids, MI; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel F. Palmer Montgomery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
