The Life of LAURA L CARTER
Mrs. Laura Carter, 93, of Adel, formerly of Des Moines, died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Adel Acres Nursing Home after a two-year illness. Services will be at 10 am Saturday at Westover Funeral Home here, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter, who was born in Monroe County, lived in Des Moines, 52 years before moving to Adel a yera ago.
Surviving are four sons, Clarend I., Henry, Leonard and Vernie, and four daughters, Mrs. LaVon Marmet, Mrs. Rosie Worthington, Mrs, Lola Acela and Mrs. Ione Richardson, all of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Payne of Des Moines and Mrs. Violet Johnson of Williamson; two brothers, John Mathews of Des Moines and James Mathews of Knoxville, 29 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchidren.
