The Life of GAYL HALL VERTREES

Gayl Hall Vertrees, 69, a resident of the Riverview Care Center, died Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 18, at Westover Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Gayl was born in Flint, MI and moved to Des Moines in 1976.  She worked in radio comunications for the military during the Korean war and later worked as a secretary for Meredith Publishing.

Gayle is survived by her daughters, Laura S. Delfs Propp of Saginar, MI and Bonnie J. Delfs Baldwin of Des Moines; sons, Michael P. Vertrees and Robert J.D. Vertrees, both of Des Moines; brother, Richard L. Hall of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Loretta Leaym of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren, Daniel and Robert Propp of Saginaw, MI, and Ayla and Joshua Vertrees, Emme Baldwin and Madison Vertrees, all of Des Moines; and great-grandson, Joseph Propp.

Family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, 5452 NE 22nd.
