The Life of MANUEL NEGRETE

Manuel Negrete, 92, of the 600 block of Southeast 12th Street died of complications of Parkinson''s disease Thursday at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Negrete was born in Silo, Guanajuato, Mexico, and had lived in Des Moines 83 years.  He had worked for Rock Island Railroad before retiring.

He is survived by four daughters, Louise Aiken, Rose Blom, Virginia Ramirez and Christine Negrete, all of Ddes Moines; five sons, Albert of West Des Moines, Richard, Anthony and Nile, all of Des Moines, and Manuel Jr. of Oregon; three sisters, Frances Drake and Jessie Cortez, both of Des Moines, and Guadalupe Rangel of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Frank of West Des Moines and Alex of Eagle Grove; 28 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
