The Life of HAROLD FREED
Services for Harold R. Freed, 25, of 5312 NE Ninth St. will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Freed died Wednesday at University Hospitals in Iowa City of head injuries suffered when he apparently was struck by a car on Cornell Street near Interstate Highway 80 here Monday night, authorities said.
A lifelong resident of Des Moines, he was a mechanic for the US Postal Service and a member of the American Postal Workers Union.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; three sons, Joseph, Mark and Michael, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold J. Freed of Des Moines; and a sister, Mrs. Jacquelyn Mattox of Colorado Springs, CO.
