The Life of JOHN IVAN LIKER
John I. Liker, 80, of the 1800 block of Southeast King Avenue died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Karen Acres Nursing Home in Urbandale. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton''''s Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Liker was born in Croatia and had lived in Des Moines for more than 50 years. He was a retired meat cutter with Bookey Pack and a member of the Croatian Fraternal Slavic Union. He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Emma; two sons, Steve of Urbandale and John of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Rosemary Huffman of Omaha; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
