The Life of CHARLES EDWARD BUTTZ
Charles E. Buttz, 76, died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Sunny View Care Center. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Charles was born on the fourth of July in 1928 in Henry, SD. He graduated from Canton High School in Conton, SD. He worked for the Wallace Farmers and Meredith Corporation before retiring in 1993 from Meredith. He was a member of the Merchant Marines, the US Army and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, he also belonged to VFW and was a Cub Scout Leader.
Charles is survived by his wife, Elverna M. Buttz; daughters, Vikki (Kurt) Atha and Merlene (Larry) Gillund; sons, Gregory (Diana) Buttz and Cerdyl (Jennifer) Buttz; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Watson, and sister-in-law, Bobbie Buttz. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Buttz; and grandchildren, Ryan and Lindsey.
Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
