The Life of CHARLES RUSSELL PROCTOR
Charles R. Proctor, 89, died Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at home surrounded by his family. The body was cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held this spring with interment at Highland Memory Gardens.
Charles was born September 4, 1916 to Charles E. and India (Dee) Proctor in Boone, Iowa. He retired in 1968 as a Lt. Colonel with the Army Reserve, in which he had served since 1936. Charles was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. His life centered around the accomplishments of his grandchildren and he loved visits by his great-grandchldren.
Charles is survived by his three sons, Charles H. of Conroe, TX, Robert of Des Moines and Stephen of Saylorville; a daughter, Elizabeth McNeely of Des Moines; eight grandchildren, Carol Jean, Melissa (Jamie), Brad (Elishia), Christina, Brian (Jennifer), Wyatt (Star), Stephen Charles and James; and six great-grandchildren, Damian, Karlee Kay, Samuel Charles, Caitlin, Sydney, Calvin and coming soon, Cami; and his cat named Dog. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth in 1999.
