The Life of ROBERT J MCCANN Sr.

Robert. J. McCann, 81, died Monday, Octgober 18, 2004 at In Trust Hospital Taylaor House. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October21 at Hamilton's Funeral Home on Lyon Street, with burial at Highalnd Memory Gardens Cemetery. Robert was born March 14, 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked for Iowa Packingbefore retiring from Armstrong Tire & Rubber in 1983.He loved camping, hunting and fishing with family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby McCann. He is survived by a son, Robert J. McCann, Jr. (Deb) of Urbandale; sister, Jene Breiten of urbandale;, grandchildren, Lisa Bechtel (Bobby) of Kenya, Africa, Kristy McCann of Des Moines and Joydy McCann of Urbandale; and longtime friend, Kathleen Nuzum of Des Moines. Private family visitation begins after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, where family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
