The Life of HOWARD HENRY MILLS

Services for Howard H. Mills, 83, of 2117 E. Twenty-fourth St., who died of cancer Friday at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McClaren''s Resthaven Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens.

He was born in Ringgold County and lived in Des Moines for 45 years.  He was a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1965.  Mr. Mills was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Ankeny.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille; two daughters, Ethel Hamilton and Edna Bowman, both of Des Moines; two sons, Harold of Des Moines and Claude of Omaha, Neb.; three step-daughters, Bernadine Brand of Stockton, Calif., Jacqueline Cummings of Des Moines and Joceline Myers of Marshalltown; four stepsons, Larry Bowman of Newton, Bernard Sheffer of Des Moines, Evern Sheffer of Maxwell and Daryl Sheffer of Sioux City; 45 grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
