The Life of ARNOLD M SCHEEL
Arnold M. Scheel, 74, of Fountain West Health Care Center in West Des Moines died of Parkinson''s disease there Monday. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grand View Lutheran Church, of which he was a member. Burial of the cremains will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Scheel was born in Avoca and had lived in Des Moines most of his life before moving to West Des Moines four years ago. He was a retired switchman with Rock Island Railroad, a Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of Auburn Lodge and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Berniece; two sons, Rick of Farmington Hills, MI, and Brian of Des Moines; a brother, Leonard of Des Moines; a sister, Ruth McIntire of Anita; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, where a Masonic service will be held at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or In Trust Hospice.
